Ruth Doherty
Ms. Ruth Doherty holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Colby College and a M.Ed in Learning and Design from Vanderbilt University. Ms. Doherty's graduate degree focused on how to change the traditional classroom to give more students access to interesting and relevant mathematics. Before joining the BART family, Ms. Doherty taught for 6 years at the Elementary, Middle and High School level. When she's not teaching, Ms. Doherty enjoys hiking, backpacking and anything that takes her outdoors. She's also an avid quilter (which might have something to do with her love of Geometry!) and you'll find she's never without a book to read whether it be about math or how Mazer Rackham and Bingwen are going to save the world.
